Job Description

The QA Production Inspector is responsible to inspect electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components, and parts for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties.

  • Examine layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware, and components to detect assembly errors
  • Compare assembly with parts list to detect missing hardware
  • Examines joints and pulls wires and cables to locate soldering defects
  • Examine alignment of parts and measures parts for conformance to specified dimensions
  • Trace cables and harness assemblies, following cable-wiring diagram, to verify routing of wires to specified connections and conformance of cable lacing and insulation to manufacturing standards
  • Examine parts for surface defects such as chips, scratches, and pinholes
  • Examine production documents to ensure that all assembly, inspecting, and testing steps were performed according to specifications
  • Records inspection data such as serial number, type and percent of defects, and rework required
  • Will learn functional and operational tests, using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscope, multimeter, cable testers, or performs destructive tests to determine tensile strength of product or part
  • Helps train inspectors
  • Perform all data requirements in Quality Control area for inspection activities
Qualifications
  • 2+ years assembly experience
  • 2+ years experience as an inspector preferred
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Able to work in a team environment and fulfilling objectives with minimum direct supervision 
  • Demonstrated ability to make prompts and informed decisions, based on facts and results
  • Ability to read and understand laboratory standards, policies, and instructions for lab safety, testing and general up keep
