GCG  is seeking to hire a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to work onsite at our Rochester Hills, MI (Waterview Dr) location. Bring your experience with manufacturing processes and electronic assembly to an industry leader!

In this role, you will manage the technical duties related to the assembly build and process development of new products, as well as identify and implement process improvements for existing and/or legacy products.

What You’ll Do

  • Establish manufacturing processes through the fabrication of First-Time builds of new products and the collection of data related to the fabrication of those products. 
  • Make manufacturing process decisions based on knowledge and experience in assembly builds
  • Build and test product while conforming to IPC-620 with high attention to detail                                                           
  • Identify and implement process improvements for existing production processes
  • Maintain accurate documentation files with regarding d to process instructions; record process status from “initial release” to “released” status
  • Ensure necessary updates are made and revision changes documented as engineering changes / process improvements occur
  • Coach and instruct production personnel through build processes as needed (e.g., initial Release, ECN, Process Improvements, etc.)
  • Comply with ISO-9001 quality standards as related to production build and test
  • Complete all corporate training requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of an Associates Degree in Manufacturing
  • 2+ years of technical experience in manufacturing engineering with electronic assembly
  • Understanding and usage of calipers, micrometers, and Cirrus test equipment
  • Working knowledge of process instructions, engineering drawings and specifications
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, written communications skills, and computer literacy
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; CAD (3d) experience preferred
  • SolidWorks knowledge or at (least AutoCad)
  • Soldering experience preferred
