Job Description

The Staff Accountant position is responsible for maintaining general ledger, account reconciliations, variance analyses, validating sales compensation plans and related special projects. An important aspect of the role will be to analyze customer profitability. This includes analysis of vendor and customer programs including but not limited to rebates and other costs of sales.

Our office is located near O'Hare.

Responsibilities

  • Account Reconciliations
  • Regulate policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure accuracy in general ledger and financial statements
  • Variance Analysis
  • Month end close process
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and reporting as needed
  • Assist with preparation of external audits
  • Play a key role in helping to streamline, automate and continuously improve processes
  • Perform additional accounting functions and analysis as needed to support business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Accounting
  • Positive attitude, creative thinker, and willingness to learn
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills to create calculations, charts and graphs
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
