(Columbus, OH area- remote home office)

In this role, you will provide and manage presale specification and post-sale support on solutions offered by C&E Advanced Technologies. You will partner with our sales team to grow the company’s automation product sales by providing our customers with best-in-class service resolving technical issues and delivering onsite start-up assistance.

We offer a flexible/hybrid work arrangement. Onboarding and training will be provided in our Miamisburg, OH location, but your home office will be your primary location after training is complete.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide phone, web-based, and on-site technical support to customers, primarily for Automation products including Siemens Automation, Banner Wireless, Turck I/O, Turck RFID, and various HMI and Networking product lines.
  • Provide pre-sale support for Automation products, including product demonstrations as well as seminars/lunch & learns, and compiling bills of materials (BOMs) for quoting by the sales team
  • Participate in Regional/Corporate Sales Meetings to provide product updates and training for the sales force
  • Log account-based activities and schedule in the CRM
  • Develop and deliver formal training to educate customers on best use applications for our automation products
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics, industrial engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in engineering science and technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical manuals
  • Ability to present information effectively in a group setting
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and CRM.
  • Primary technical programming software to be supported is Siemens (Simatic Manager and TIA Portal); other programming experience with Allen-Bradley or CODESYS a plus
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle several abstract and concrete variables
  • An understanding of the Industrial Automation industry, industrial processes, products and services

 

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen and small numbers. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Work Environment

Standard office environment and industrial environments when visiting customer locations. The employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to extreme heat; and occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions; working in high, precarious places; exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and extreme cold.  The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud, depending on worksite. Frequently exposed to the risk of electrical shock due to the nature of working with electrical components. Occasionally exposed to the risk of radiation and vibration.
