Summary:

Our Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with our Director of Human Resources. This is a perfect position for those who love interacting with fellow employees and serving as a mediator and problem solver by providing professional quality Subject Matter Expertise (SME) advice & execution on Employee Relations (ER) matters, and driving consistency in application of policy and procedure.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to touch multiple HR processes including (but not limited to) benefits administration, onboarding, quality control and policy implementation, recruitment/employment, safety and OSHA compliance, EEOC filings and affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Respond to ER inquiries which may include, but are not limited to: Disciplinary action, progressive performance management, policy breach, investigations, employee standards of conduct, EEOC claims, unemployment claims, and terminations.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Assists in the recruitment effort for both exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; ensures all onboarding activities are complete.
  • Ongoing monitoring of the workplace environment to proactively identify trends and the identification of potential concerns or issues
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Plan and promote company sponsored events, keeping the integrity of Allied’s commitment to employee incentives and rewards
  • Communicate professionally with outside suppliers such as temporary agencies, insurance brokers, and any other vendor of services
What You Need to Bring:
  • A bachelor's degree and 3 - 5 years of HR experience, or a master's degree in HR management and 2 years of experience in the HR field, or 7 years of experience in the HR field.
  • Strong working knowledge in recruiting, retention, performance evaluations, training, WC, UC, FMLA, FLSA, EEOC, PA HRC, USERRA, OSHA, AAP, Right to Know
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry a plus.
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both in groups as well as independently
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and discretion when handling confidential information
  • Exceptional conflict resolution skills
