Director, Solutions Architecture - Business Development

GCG is hiring a Director of Solutions Architecture to lead our convergence of communications technology into multiple market segments. In this role, you will provide OSP and ISP design and engineering for our Go To Market (GTM) teams. You will help facilitate sales growth by leading with wireless to wireline, and extending the GCG core product offerings into market segments to create value-add solutions. You will assist in expanding our current customer base and identifying new customers within the market segment. Partnering with our core sales team to help them integrate new products and services into their offerings, you will lead the customer solution engagement in concert with business development staff. This is a remote role, with national travel on a bimonthly basis.

What You’ll Do:

  • Help GCG grow, evolve, and maintain dominance in the market by identifying how to provide solutions  including communications designs and engineering for new and existing customers; build the Bills of Materials (BOM)
  • Identify manufacturers and products to align GCG solutions with customer needs
  • Architect, implement, and support the revenue growth strategy
  • Oversee the role definition for Solutions Architecture within the execution of Go To Market (GTM) plan
  • Support sales in all aspects of sales opportunities, including collaborating with the internal Bid & Quote teams
  • Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of product offering, specifications, order codes, etc., to assist sales staff, customers, and customer service with product selection
  • Provide training to Sales and Sales Engineers on how to position and explain GCG products in solution-selling
  • Lead and support customer meetings driving GCG solutions
  • Demonstrate capabilities for redesigning Central Offices and Data Centers
  • Map potential technical solutions for customer engagement road maps
  • Educate colleagues on how solution architecture benefits both the customer and company alike.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards, suggesting improvements to maximize effectiveness and minimizing costs
  • Establish and ensure compliance with service level objectives and agreements, key performance indicators, and other metrics to measure success and identify opportunities
  • Collaborate with business unit sales and operations team members as needed
  • Design WIFI and Engineering-capable RF engineering for CMTS and Coaxial Headend
  • Support Tier 1 ,2,3 level service providers, Wireless, Wireline, Wisp
  • Provide new product design overview, including but not limited to stadiums and venues, multi-dwelling units, and industrial locations
What You’ll Bring: 
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or similar field (preferred)
  • Completion of Electronics Technician "A" school training a plus
  • IFA membership a plus
  • 10 + years growing new business segments and markets experience, including experience aligning company resources against first market mover opportunities
  • Prior experience with large corporate new market strategies and execution
  • Experience integrating various back-end organizational functions needs and capabilities into a GTM (Go To Market) plan
  • Proven ability to develop OSP designs for HFC, PON,FWA (Macro/Micro) and ISP for OSS, BSS and Backhaul, and multi-operator services
  • Success in working across business unit and corporate functions to provide a cohesive wireless communications solution
  • Deep knowledge in Wireless and Wireline ecosystems and technologies
  • Hands-on experience providing technical expertise and guidance in conjunction with a core sales team,  sharing overall responsibility for success
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated capability in Agilent/HP SatCom and IP Test Equipment and Military satellite communication equipment.
  • Proficiency in MIL Standards, DOCSIS I – III.I specs, CMTS, OSP, ISP, Wi-Fi, and CBRS
