As the Controller for GCG’s Industrial Automation business unit, you will lead and oversee all accounting functions for this business division including provision of guidance and management of the staff accountants and accounting supervisors within the group.  You will apply broad knowledge of industry best practices to manage internal controls, month’s end close activities, and account reconciliations while identifying and addressing potential procedural risks or issues.

What you’ll do

  • Build productive working relationships with local and regional management in finance and operations
  • Serve as point of contact for business division’s financial audits
  • Oversee balance sheet and P & L variance analysis
  • Manage various finance functions including but not limited to review and approval of monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, review of sales and use tax reports, and management of fixed assets and leases
  • Ensure that commission reports are processed regularly and in a timely manner
  • Propose and drive appropriate resolution of any issues that may arise in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist Corporate Controller and CFO with ad-hoc projects as needed

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years of accounting managerial experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
  • Strong analytical, leadership, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, ERP, and BI; previous experience with Epicor P21 strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Previous experience in manufacturing and/or wholesale distribution strongly preferred
