Position Summary

In this role, you will manage the company’s overall IT project portfolio, working closely with GCG IT leadership and key stakeholders to deliver projects on time and on budget. You will flex your expertise in project leadership, coordination, visibility, and predictability for the completion of critical projects; assist with the development of technical estimates and work plans; and improve and refine project management methodology and governance. Because you will be creating project management best practices, your broad knowledge of industry best practices and ability to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and roadblocks will be appreciated and leveraged here.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and manage detailed project plans that align with the overall IT strategy, consulting with IT department leads and senior leadership as necessary
  • Manage all phases of project including scope and requirements, key milestones and timelines, risks, planning, execution, monitoring, budget, and communication
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties, such as vendors, to ensure the flawless execution of multiple projects
  • Measure performance using project management tools and techniques to deliver clear project scorecards that measure success and illuminate risk
  • Prepare project status reports and regularly present project performance updates in technical team meetings with IT leadership, team members, and stakeholders; determine progress and address any questions or challenges
  • Take ownership of issues; propose and drive appropriate resolutions
  • Promote project vision and objectives through effective communication; enable regular, consistent project communication to both stakeholders and the IT team
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management or related technical field (required)
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing projects
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred
  • Previous experience with corporate acquisitions STRONGLY preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail and nuance
  • Solid organizational and time management skills; ability to balance multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to absorb knowledge rapidly to gain management-level understanding of the technical work being performed
  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies, and methods
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, to deliver steering committee updates
  • Experience with project management software tools; previous MS Project experience a huge plus
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment, promoting collaboration and fostering commitment
  • Excellent consultative and conflict resolution skills
