Genuine Cable Group (GCG) is seeking a Production Controller to join our team in our Rochester Hills, MI facility. Bring your previous production experience to us!

In this role, you will manage production planning, maintain the production schedule, as well as direct and regulate the movement of goods throughout the entire manufacturing cycle. You will also set the overall level of manufacturing output.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze new job orders from daily Material Requirement Planning (MRP) run, and set production schedule start and delivery commitment dates
  • Interface with all departments on production planning issues/decisions and job status
  • Calculate, analyze, and report load and capacity requirements by department
  • Review material availability and update jobs/schedule as required
  • Set production job priorities and Finished Goods (FG) based on customer requirements
  • Interface with customer service to ensure timely job order status and confirmations
  • Maintain a steady flow of jobs by ensuring shop docs are created and released to the Kitting Department based on correct lead times
  • Transact and maintain system and user-defined field job status
  • Process all Contract Amendments (changes to customer order) by updating job status and modifying shop docs as required
  • Processes production control steps involved with Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
  • Support Purchasing with shortages, expedites, and updating material status on jobs
  • Assure total compliance to the Quality Plan for Production Planning
  • Run daily production status meeting after confirming daily commits with production
  • Support all corporate training requirements by ensuring full compliance and participation; comply with ISO-9001 quality standards

What You’ll Bring

  • 2+ years’ experience in a fast-paced, quick turn production planning/scheduling environment
  • Associates Degree (preferred)
  • Detail orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Excel
  • Working knowledge of material requirement planning (MRP) and forecasting
  • APICS certification a plus
