Job Description

The Senior Business Intelligence and SQL Developer is responsible for delivering and maintaining effective reports in our BI environment. In this role the developer will be responsible for understanding business needs, working with stakeholders to develop scoping requirements, and working autonomously and with team members to deliver results.  This role will serve as the key point of responsibility for our Power BI, MS SQL Server, Onestream, and Oracle based reporting environment.

Our office is located near O'Hare.

Responsibilities

  • Build SQL queries, procedures, and tables, and convert them into leverageable data cubes within Power BI
  • Work with our third-party vendors and internal team members to maintain a scalable BI architecture with a particular focus being paid to acquisition related data
  • Prioritize reporting requests to align with business needs
  • Provide accurate estimates on the time needed to complete requests
  • Build and maintain appropriate validation procedures to ensure the BI information is accurate and timely
  • Provide monthly analysis on BI usage and adoption
  • Upon acquisition of another business, develop processes and procedures to migrate data from their systems to our BI environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, programming, or related program
  • 7 - 10 years of job-related experience in SQL and BI development
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL query building and stored procedures
  • Experience working with MS Power BI
  • Experience working with Oracle Materialized Views
  • Experience building and maintaining an Enterprise Data Warehouse and related ETL processes
  • Working knowledge and understanding of functional business areas and the data that relates to them within Oracle EBS:GL/AP/AR, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Inventory
