Segment HR Director - Operations

Genuine Cable Group (GCG) wants to leverage your deep expertise in workforce planning, performance management, leadership development, and culture-building in our newly created Segment Human Resources Director position. This can be a hybrid position located in or near any of our major locations: Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Philadelphia, or Worcester/Leominster, MA. Also, we are willing to consider 100% remote anywhere in the U.S. for the right candidate.

In this role, reporting to the head of Human Resources, you will be a true business partner to our Operations segment, supporting an employee base spread across multiple geographic locations. You will be strategically and operationally involved across a broad spectrum of HR disciplines, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, total rewards, talent management & development, diversity & inclusion, performance management and employee relations to drive business outcomes against the execution of our global HR and business priorities.

This requires collaborating with the executive team and leadership at all levels to achieve business objectives; interpreting which people enablers are necessary to deliver business results; and implementing HR programs at scale. You will also strengthen the senior leadership teams of client groups by providing coaching and counsel to senior leaders to further develop their leadership capability and capacity.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with teams in multiple states in-person or virtually as appropriate, providing expert consultative guidance and executing HR strategies
  • Provide strategic thought partnership and advice on all areas of human resources to the Operations and Supply Chain teams
  • Collaborate with internal HR team, analyzing Segment KPI Dashboard to provide expert guidance and advice in the areas of performance management, recruiting and retention strategies, compensation, performance development, employee engagement and culture enhancement
  • Partner with internal recruiting team to identify open positions and fill them in a timely manner
  • Implement, administer, communicate, and manage HR policies and programs within every stage of the employee lifecycle
  • Provide support, advice, and resolution to employees and managers related to employee relations issues, including recommendations for resolving issues that arise; effectively manage risk and maintain compliance with regulatory and legal requirements as well as company policies
  • Maintain an awareness of HR trends in legislation and conduct trainings based on available resources, or create new ones to meet the need
  • Partner with Talent team and Segment leaders to roll out training and development programs
  • Nurture strong relationships with cross-functional partners and serve as a trusted advisor on all people related matters
  • Support the implementation of company-wide DEI initiatives
  • Work closely with leaders and employees to identify trends, create solutions, and implement change resulting in the improvement of relationships, and increase in employee engagement and retention
  • Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on performance improvement plans

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of human resources management experience as a generalist, with at least 3 years in a senior or management role with direct reports
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience (required); MBA or Masters’ degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Leadership (preferred)
  • Experience supporting hourly/non-exempt employee client groups
  • Experience in a distribution and/or manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
