Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team at GCG (Genuine Cable Group). If you’re a collaborative, communicative accounting professional with the initiative and drive to work in a versatile, growing environment, then we want you to join us.

 

In this role, you will maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations and variance analyses, validate sales compensation plans, and work on related special projects. You will also analyze customer profitability, including evaluating vendor and customer programs including but not limited to rebates and other costs of sales.

What You'll Do

  • Perform account reconciliations, variance analyses, and month-end close processes
  • Ensure accuracy in general ledger and financial statements
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and manage commission and incentive plans
  • Calculate monthly and quarterly commission payments based on actual sales and operating results
  • Prepare and distribute scorecards monthly and quarterly
  • Establish and maintain operational relationships to ensure current and future expenses are captured and clearly explained based on business segments/regions
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and reporting as needed
  • Perform additional accounting functions and analysis as needed to support the business

 

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting, Operations, or Incentive Compensation
  • Experience with small and large industrial commercial business
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to create calculations, charts, and graphs
  • Ability to work under pressure and regularly prioritize tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound independent judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate satisfactory business resolutions
