JOB SUMMARY:

 This position is responsible for the maintenance, control, and calibration of tooling/equipment for the Assembly Division. Provide support to engineering and production as it relates to tooling.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and control equipment/tooling (MS-Excel Worksheet log or associated Database) and organize equipment/tooling using 5S practices.
  • Develop preventive maintenance tasks and intervals and maintain Preventive Maintenance log.
  • Maintain production equipment per equipment PM schedule.
  • Maintain, control and organize equipment/tooling.
  • Perform monthly department audits to identify tooling/equipment deficiencies.
  • Calibrate hand tools and equipment.
  • Ensure spare machine parts inventory is sufficient for risk mitigation.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair manufacturing equipment and tooling as required. Use outside services as required.
  • Recommend new equipment to replace outdated/unsupported equipment.
  • Provide support and training for tooling set ups in production and training for computer controlled manufacturing equipment as required.
  • Support engineering with qualification of new tooling/equipment.
  • Support engineering/production with the coordination of new tooling/equipment demonstrations.
  • Assist with ordering of spare parts and tooling as required.
  • Fabricate wire harness boards and tooling aids as required.
  • Work engineering and facilities projects as required by supervision.
  • Complete facilities tasks as required.
  • Complete all Corporate training requirements.
  • Comply with ISO-9001 quality standards.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 year technical degree (preferred), technical/trade school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Strong organizational, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in the operation of cable and harness assembly equipment
  • Ability to program manufacturing equipment
  • Working knowledge of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers)
  • Computer literacy MS-Windows, MS Office

Experience with Wire/Harness Prep equipment a PLUS
