We are looking for experienced energy trader to join our team. You will join a collaborative environment that integrates trading, quantitative research, and technology. You will join the desk responsible for the execution of the group’s crude oil and related energy trading strategies. This person will monitor trading activity throughout the day and propose enhancements to existing strategies. A successful candidate will exhibit strong technical skills, the ability to stay focused on the ever-changing global markets and to work successfully within a team environment.
- Develop controlled trading strategies which leverage the existing system and assets for additional profitability
- Understand and recognize the value of crude oil qualities, pipeline logistics, infrastructure and blending opportunities
- Analyze market information and trends to identify price/margin optimization opportunities along the supply chain
- Initiate and conclude trades, implement hedging strategies and manage price risks
- Monitor and hedge trading positions on a continuous basis
- Report price exposure and profitability via daily exposure and P&L report to immediate supervisor/management
- Prioritize trading objectives and document any new trading strategies
- Work with the software development team to oversee and deploy new crude oil and distillate strategies
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 4 years’ successful experience in a similar role in the trading industry
- Expert command of crude oil and condensate market fundamentals, supply, demand, pricing mechanisms, blending characteristics, logistics, regulations, operations and contractual terms used in purchase/sale of crude oil
- Experience trading energy products including natural gas, WTI, Brent crude, gasoil, heating oil and RBOB gasoline
- Demonstrable solid profitability record
- Proven ability to develop and successfully execute trading / hedging strategies based on market analysis
- Strong leadership and work ethic, exceptional organizational and analytical skills
- Professional presence and strong interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, results driven, and having the ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining good judgment
- Experience trading on proprietary trading systems
- Programming experience is preferred, but not required
