The seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant position assists with accurate recordkeeping of accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and organizational philosophy.  They will have knowledge of assets, tax reporting, and licensing.  They will also provide support for fleet inquiries from the branch locations and reconcile bank accounts.

   

Please note: This is an in-person position located at our wonderful Headquarters in Bloomington, Minnesota and the hours are between 7am-5pm M-F   

 

Pay: $28-31 hourly based on experience 

   

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Requires establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.  Requires effective communication with customers, clients, and coworkers
  • Reports to and works under general supervision of the Accounting Manager. Able to work independently without close supervision.
  • Requires making decisions that affect other people, the financial resources, and/or the image and reputation of the organization.  Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Prepares bank account reconciliations for several bank accounts. 
  • Analyzes and manages sales and use tax reporting efficiencies.  Works with outside sales tax vendor for accurate submission and reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax.
  • Analyzes and reviews company expenditures, confirms allocation to proper departments and accounts.
  • Assists in monthly accounting entries for the general ledger in accordance with established procedures. 
  • Assists with cash reporting and other treasury duties.
  • Assists with fleet management as needed.  Accounts for payment to vendors for leased vehicles, vehicle maintenance, and fuel purchases.  Completes fleet related account reconciliations
  • Participates in the annual business audit and any government agency audits.
  • Assists with various licensing, tax returns, and government reporting. 

 

Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; three (3) or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Administration and Management, Accounting and Economics, Law and Government, Customer and Personal Service, Sales and Marketing, and Computers.   Knowledge of computer operating systems and financial operating systems.
  • Social, Complex Problem Solving, Technical, Systems, Management of Financial Resources, Desktop Computer.
  • Normal office environment. Occasional light lifting of office equipment, materials and boxes; frequent walking and standing; requires dexterity in use of fingers for the operation of computers and other office equipment.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
