Your role at GEI. 
 
As a Staff Environmental or Civil Engineer, you will be joining a multi-talented, highly motivated team supporting our Raleigh, NC office focused on environmental site assessment and remediation.  Under supervision of senior staff, you will be responsible for supporting a variety of environmental projects at contaminated sites through field investigation, data analysis, report preparation, remedial evaluations, and remedial design of contaminated sites      
 
Essential Responsibilities & Duties 
  • Support investigation, remediation, and reporting of environmental projects with a strong focus on subsurface soil, sediment and groundwater. 
  • Coordinate and conduct environmental site assessments through soil boring/monitoring well installation, soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and soil vapor sampling, and investigation or remediation oversight.
  • Perform data management, data analysis, geologic interpretations or engineering calculations, and report preparation. 
  • Support development of conceptual site models, remediation strategies or design packages depending on specialty.
  • Develop and prepare technical work, scopes of work, and proposals.
 Minimum Qualifications 
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related degree; MS is a plus.
  • EIT registration or ability to obtain.
  • 0-3 years of professional experience in environmental consulting.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office suite.  Other technical software such as GIS, AutoCAD, 3D visualization, etc. a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel on short-term and long-term assignments as needed.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
