Your role at GEI. 
 
As an IT Support Manager for GEI you will serve as a leader and technical and subject matter expert in maintaining the day to day operations of IT Support staff. You must be able to establish, maintain and increase user satisfaction through professional, courteous and thoughtful end user support. 
 
The successful candidate will be well versed in all areas of Information Technology and the challenges that IT Support brings, including an in-depth understanding of a variety of computer, application, network and security challenges that may affect GEI. 
 
Essential Responsibilities & Duties 
  • Provide technical support for all aspects of network operations including servers, Active Directory, group policy, MS 365, security, cloud services, firewalls, VPN, routing, switching, network segmentation, wireless, backups, IPSec and content filtering. 
  • Coordinate with Security Team to manage Security vulnerability, Intrusion Prevention and remediation 
  • Coordinate with Security Team to implement security improvements 
  • Keep up to date with the latest threats and attack methods 
  • Maintaining and creating documentation 
  • Manage vendor relationships 
  • Network and server monitoring 
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure Team to manage on premise, SAN and cloud server virtualization 
  • Computer lifecycle management, hardware acquisition and inventory management 
  • Database management 
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure Team to conduct regular infrastructure security assessments 
  • Coordinate with I.T. Infrastructure Team to develop and maintain company security policy 
  • Evaluate new technologies for possible implementation 
  • Manage Group Policy and Active Directory 
  • Respond to end user helpdesk support requests from local and remote users 
  • Train and educate end users on proper security techniques, trends and procedures 
  • Workstation deployment and troubleshooting 
  • Maintain hardware and software license compliance 
  • Office 365 administration 
Minimum Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) required. Masters Degree preferred. 
  • 4+ years of IT experience as an IT Manager in an SMB/Enterprise environment 
  • 4+ years managing a cloud focused hybrid cloud/on premise IT infrastructure preferably utilizing MS Azure 
  • 4+ years managing Active Directory 
  • 4+ years managing Microsoft Office 365 
  • 4+ years managing Cisco (or equivalent) Firewalls, routers, and switches 
  • 4+ years of managing desktop and end user support 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities 
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours and travel when required 
  • Strong English oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong analytical skills with proven project management skills 
  • Ability to convey technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical personnel 
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy 
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365 
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure 
  • Management of VMware environment 
  • Understanding of IT Security Controls (NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC-2 or equivalent) 
  • Understanding of Veeam Backup Software 
  • Understanding of Fortinet Firewalls 
  • ITIL Foundation certification a plus
  • PMP, Security+, Network+, MCSE, CCNA R/S or CCNA Security certifications a plus
