Are you passionate about infrastructure and looking to kickstart your career in asset management? GEI Consultants is on the lookout for a motivated and enthusiastic Asset Management Intern to join our dynamic team in Hamilton. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the management of infrastructure assets, all while gaining invaluable, hands-on experience in the field.
You will dive deep into asset management planning, data analysis, and reporting within a municipal or consulting environment, helping to shape projects that directly impact the lifecycle of critical infrastructure. This internship is not only an opportunity to apply what you've learned but to actively contribute to the future of sustainable infrastructure management.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist with the development of asset management plans and strategies to support capital and operating budgets.
- Help collect, organize, and analyze asset data, supporting asset inventories, and ensuring accurate data management.
- Contribute to creating reports and visualizations based on asset data, presenting trends and insights to stakeholders.
- Support the development and testing of asset management tools to assist in data management and planning efforts.
- Assist in documenting current asset management processes and liaise with team members to ensure accurate and efficient workflows.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 0-1 years of relevant experience or academic exposure to asset management principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Microsoft SQL Server is an asset but not required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A keen interest in asset management and infrastructure planning.
