GEI Consultants, Inc. (GEI) is seeking an entry-level Environmental Analyst / Scientist to join the Growth Development Group out of our Wakefield, MA office. This individual will work on multidisciplinary projects for private and public clients. 
 
As part of a multidisciplinary project team, this candidate will have an important role in collecting and analyzing data, building spatial and quantitative analyses, and developing technical documents and reports. Generally, this individual will work as part of our dynamic team to solve an array of issues critical to the environmental, water, and energy landscape.  
 
This role includes a mix of office and field work. Project work will primarily support clients across the Northeast, with occasional travel to project sites. 
 
This is an entry-level position open to recent graduates. The position's responsibilities include the following:  
 
Essential Responsibilities & Duties 
 
The ideal candidate for this position will: 
  • Work on a variety of environmental projects throughout the Northeast.
  • Prepare project correspondence, data reports, and work plans for internal and client review.
  • Support environmental projects through data analysis, GIS mapping, technical writing, and client deliverables.
  • Site investigation, data evaluation, validation and visualization, due diligence, report preparation, and report review.
  • Synthesize data and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other team members and clients.
  • Assist with environmental permitting and regulatory documentation (NEPA, ESA, CWA, CAA, CZMA).
  • Contribute to environmental site assessments (Phase I/II), site characterization, and remediation planning.
  • Support wildfire mitigation planning for utility clients.
  • Prepare reports, figures, and project documentation for internal and client use.
  • Assist with proposals, presentations, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Support construction or remediation site activities, including compliance monitoring.
  • Maintain organized project files and data.
  • Travel as needed for fieldwork and training.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Minimum Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Has competency using computer operating systems and MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in GIS (QGIS or ArcGIS).
  • Experience with at least two of the following: R, Python, SQL.
  • Willingness to perform fieldwork in varying conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and on multidisciplinary teams.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
