The Hamilton Office is seeking a Reliability and Maintenance Consultant. The Reliability and Maintenance Consultant will provide technical leadership and support to a variety of asset management, reliability, and maintenance projects within the Asset Management practice. This position requires an engaged individual who is looking for an opportunity to build, contribute and advance the maintenance and reliability journeys of our clients. This position is responsible to perform tasks such as criticality analysis, asset strategy development, reliability analysis, business process mapping, and change management support.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Work as a team member to design, develop, and implement maintenance and reliability programs, projects, and initiatives for our clients.
- Asset Hierarchy: Build functional asset hierarchies.
- Asset Criticality and Risk: Build asset criticality and risk assessment frameworks and facilities their execution.
- Asset Strategy Development: Develop optimized proactive tasks to manage asset failure.
- Provide input to other asset management projects like asset management plans, risk management, and typical maintenance practices.
- Assess asset history to identify reliability improvement opportunities. Identify root causes of failures.
- Business Process Mapping: Documenting current practices and recommending best-in-class approaches to practices.
- Lead maintenance and reliability practice maturity assessments
- Lead data analysis and optimization of proactive maintenance programs
- Conduct analysis and optimization of spare parts; rationalizing spare parts recommended for new design projects, and existing asset portfolios.
- Lead maintainability and reliability reviews of designs, including recommendations for improvement.
- Analyze and provide recommendations for the effective use of EAM/CMMS systems.
- Coordinate and manage the implementation of EAM/CMMS systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and detail-oriented individual with proven problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and cross-functionally with technical personnel.
- Results-focused, providing solutions with a return-on-investment (ROI) mentality.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, a trade ticket, or other relevant experience in a maintenance or reliability role.
- Relevant certifications (CRL, CMRP, CRE, etc.) would be an asset.
- Field experience in a maintenance, planning, scheduling, or reliability role would be an asset.
- Knowledge or experience in industries such as water treatment, wastewater treatment, manufacturing, or chemical processing would be an asset.
- Experience in the use, benefits, and limitations of condition-based or predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration, ultrasonic, or infrared would be an asset.
- Experience with facilitating Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
- Experience with facilitating Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
- Extensive, hands-on experience using a CMMS system.
- Experience in Microsoft applications Excel, Access and PowerBI.
- Knowledge or experience in computer programming (Python and/or SQL) would be an asset.
