Essential Responsibilities & Duties
GEI is seeking a motivated individual to join the firm as a Hydrology and Hydraulics Engineer. The core responsibilities and duties for this position include the following:
- Conduct hydrologic, hydraulic analyses to solve complex water resources problems over a wide range of applications.
- Develop numerical models for hydrologic, hydraulic, and reservoir operations studies.
- Perform hydraulic design of culverts, pumps, open channels, and other hydraulic structures.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal and external clients.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and memoranda and present technical information to peers and clients.
- Prepare proposals and participate in business development efforts.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering and Water Resources related fields, or related education.
Education Requirements:
- B.S in Civil Engineering (M.S. preferred) in water resources related field.
- Registered Professional Engineer in California.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and work as part of a team.
- Experience with HEC-RAS is a must and experience with HEC-HMS, and HEC-ResSim is a plus.
- Knowledge of California water history and systems is desirable.
- Familiarity with GIS and CAD applications is preferred.
- Possession of valid driver’s license required.
