Technician/CAD Operator - Waterfront Group

Your role at GEI.

We are seeking a Technician for our Franklin, MA office to assist with engineering design and construction projects throughout the Northeast. Our work is on the waterfront and an interest or familiarity with recreation or work on or near the water would be a plus. You will use AutoCAD and other tools on a variety of projects, particularly coastal/marine waterfront engineering projects. You will also support field activities. You will partner with our technical staff locally and in other offices and will be a member of GEI’s broader CAD Team.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Work on a variety of waterfront projects throughout the region
  • Assist with field surveys, field inspections and construction inspections.
  • Prepare and edit drawings and figures using AutoCAD. An interest or experience in Civil 3D and Revit would be a plus
  • Perform other office or field based tasks as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced AutoCAD training
  • 2 years of experience using AutoCAD
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to perform field work on active waterfront piers and construction sites without restrictions, and in inclement weather if required.
  • Experience using MS Word and MS Excel
