Practice Leader - Wildfire Mitigation

GEI is expanding its resilience & digital services and seeks a Wildfire Mitigation Practice Leader to establish and grow a new interdisciplinary practice focused on wildfire risk reduction, mitigation planning, and resilience solutions. You will work closely with GEI’s leadership across regions to develop and deliver innovative services that address wildfire risk for utilities, landowners, public agencies, and private sector clients.
 
Essential Responsibilities & Duties 
  • Lead the strategic development and execution of GEI’s Wildfire Mitigation Practice, including defining service offerings, target markets, and growth priorities
  • Drive business development activities, including client relationship management, opportunity identification, and proposal development
  • Collaborate with regional and service line leaders to integrate wildfire mitigation services with cross-sector clients
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for project execution, including for wildfire risk modeling, mitigation strategy development, PSPS planning, digital twin development, and related advisory services
  • Ensure excellence in project delivery, including scope management, financial performance, quality assurance/quality control, and client satisfaction
  • Monitor regulatory, funding, and market trends related to wildfire mitigation to inform client strategy and service innovation
  • Establish and maintain a strong market presence through industry engagement, conference participation, thought leadership, and client-facing presentations
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams including analysts, data scientists, and technical specialists
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the practice and across GEI 
Minimum Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in wildfire mitigation, natural hazard risk management, or related consulting services.
  • 8+ years of experience in business development and client relationship management, with a track record of securing and delivering complex projects.
  • Recognized technical expertise in wildfire risk assessment, mitigation strategies, prevention planning, and/or related disciplines
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to represent GEI in external forums and with clients.
