Senior Sourcing Manager, Indirect

 

Summary: The Indirect Sr Sourcing Manager will help build a high performing Indirect Sourcing function in a dynamic and growing company.  Total Spend is approximately $100M-150M. This role will be a hands on manager with a small team that be able to independently develop sourcing strategy and conduct sourcing initiatives for a variety of indirect categories including but not limited to professional services, IT, HR benefits, Capital equipment & projects.

 

This role reports to the Director- Global Procurement & Sourcing. While this role is global, 80% of the focus will be in NA.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and achieve cost reductions through strong analytical and leadership skills, meeting year-over-year cost reduction goals
  • Lead contract negotiations with internal business partners to execute contracts that protect the business interests of GCP, while providing best overall value. Oversee and advise on Service Contract structure and Terms and Conditions.
  • Develop supplier relationships to quickly resolve issues, create and execute the category strategy, and ensure supplier alignment with the direction of the business.
  • Apply industry best practices and market trends to create forward-thinking category strategies, including the implementation of technology/ analytical tools.
  • Serve as a trusted business advisor to senior managers, providing counsel and guidance in the acquisition of products and services.
  • Provide project management and strategic guidance to cross-functional teams throughout the sourcing process
  • Ensure that all suppliers under control meet or exceed Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) objectives.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; a Masters is a plus. Professional Certification (CPM, CSPM) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years indirect sourcing and category management experience including all phases of strategic sourcing and category strategies, supplier relationship management, project management, and enabling technologies. Experience working with legal counsel to negotiate contract terms and conditions.
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to influence senior management through effective communication and presentation skills and persuasive positioning
  • Hands-on experience managing the following categories: Professional Services; Information Technology; HR Benefits, Capital Project and Equipment, Marketing, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills to manage relationships throughout the organization.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects from conception to completion in a fast-paced, global team environment
  • Excellent presentation skills both verbal and advanced powerpoint skill is required; Six Sigma and or LEAN certified is a plus
