Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiates and up-sells contracts with clients for meeting space and guest rooms
  • Assists the client, site and/or department to plan an exceptional event while ensuring it meets their needs, expectation, and budget
  • Is the liaison between internal departments, management, and client – the keeper of every detail
  • Prepares invoices, and processes payments in accordance with the original agreed terms and contracts
  • Participates in event preparation activities such as menu design, signage, traffic flow plans, event schedule, vendor/delegate arrivals, and all aspects of the event.
  • Books all aspects of facilities, catering and events
  • Prepares and distributes various reports and banquet events orders to appropriate parties
  • Provides site tours for new and existing clients and assists clients in selecting event menus
  • Collaborates with other departments to review upcoming events and generate initiatives for new and repeat business
  • May perform duties off site


What You Bring

  • Three years’ experience in an event planning role in the hospitality industry or equivalent experience in catering
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality preferred
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, email, Internet, navigation and presentation software
  • Experience with Hotel Property Management Systems preferred
  • Experience with Delphi Sales and Catering Software preferred
