As a critical member of the HR team, you help with talent acquisition, develop new team members and maintain staff information and manage employee and labour relations . Key Responsibilities

  • Provides administration and gatekeeping for recruitment and hiring activities and results through ATS system -  assists departments with recruitment, such as job postings, screening applications, reference checking, job fairs,  and orientation. Includes handling initial communications with candidates.
  • Maintain accurate employee records by updating databases with new hires, terminations, leaves, transfers, and other changes
  • Prepare and process new employee documentation, including onboarding paperwork, payroll details, and benefits and pension enrolment
  • Supports payroll administration by verifying employee details in HRIS system, verifying timesheets, tracking attendance, and coordinating with payroll staff for accurate processing
  • Responds to employee inquiries related to benefits, company policies, and HR procedures, while fostering a positive, open line of communication
  • Assists with organizing training and development sessions for employees, track all training records, and ensure compliance with ongoing learning initiatives
  • Coordinates employee offboarding processes, including conducting exit interviews and updating records to ensure compliance
  • Work with Corporate OH&S team with health and safety, supporting the JHSC, completing accident investigations, meeting WSIB reporting requirements, and overseeing modified work programs and claims management activities
  • Work with the Corporate Labour Relations team to manage all unionized employee relations issues at the site  
  • Conducts a detail-oriented and resourceful approach to investigations
  • Works proactively with management and employees to ensure a productive and respectful workplace environment 
  • Supports and coaches department leaders to ensure familiarity and application of human resources practices, programs, policies and regulations and the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Retains a thorough and updated knowledge of company programs, policies, procedures and gaming regulations. Liaises with government regulators to ensure compliance
  • Retains a thorough and updated knowledge of human resources practices, legislation and policies to respond to employee and management inquiries
  • Supports the design, implementation and ongoing delivery of Human Resource programs and initiatives

What You Bring

  • Diploma or degree in human resources and two to five years of related human resources experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional demeanour and razor-sharp interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communications skills - written and oral
  • Efficient multitasker and detail-oriented.
  • Exceptional people skills and refined understanding of labour laws and standards.
  • A people centric approach with strong Customer Service skills.
  • A solution-driven personality who thrives while helping staff meet their goals.
  • Insight and skills related to talent acquisition.
  • Minimum of two years experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel.
