The Count Room Supervisor manages and supervises Count Room and Count Team activities by overseeing the collection, sorting, counting and reconciling of daily cash and coin receipts from different areas within the facility, and the preparation of deposits for all facility revenues in an accurate, secure, and efficient manner in accordance with policies and procedures. 

Responsible for the completion and accuracy of daily paperwork and reconciliations. Trains, develops, and mentors new Count Team Supervisors, and evaluates their performance.   Liaises with regulators, the Cage Manager, and other departments regarding Count Room and Count Team activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the operation of the Count Room.
  • Interviews, trains, and develops Count Team Supervisors and Members including conducting performance appraisals and employee meetings, providing ongoing feedback and support and administering discipline.
  • Completes payroll and human resources paperwork for Count Team Supervisors (and Count Team Members, where applicable).
  • Handles payroll, recruitment, and human resources issues for Count Team Supervisors and Count Team Members, where applicable.
  • Supervises direct reports, providing instruction and direction as needed, ensuring safe work practices are followed, and monitoring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a dynamic and energetic leader, fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation and open communication.
  • Sets an example of excellent customer service standards for all staff.
  • Prepares staff schedules for Count Team staff. 
  • Prepares and reconciles table game and electronic gaming machine paperwork on a daily basis.  Determines and advises Count Team on daily required deposits.
  • Verifies gaming and non-gaming deposits.
  • Balances and reconciles daily ticket redemption machine, and ATM where applicable, paperwork and completes monthly ticket redemption machine adjustments. 
  • Oversees ticket redemption machine loading and troubleshoots machine problems.
  • Investigates electronic gaming machine money claim disputes and report’s findings to the Slot Department.
  • Completes shift report and other internal or regulatory reports as necessary. 
  • Completes periodic Count Team procedure compliance audits.
  • Oversees shredding company site visits, where applicable.   Arranges long-term paperwork storage requirements.
  • Liaises with gaming regulator regarding paperwork, electronic gaming machine issues, and policies and procedures.
  • Ensures a well organized and safe work space. 
  • Liaises with equipment providers and regulator as necessary.
  • Maintains effective lines of communication with all other departments. 
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

What You Bring

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to field disputes and address in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Outstanding customer service skills 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Working knowledge with computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet navigation, and presentation software
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot gaming, cash and coin machinery
  • 2 years supervisory work experience 
  • 1 year experience as a casino Count Team Supervisor or similar experience 
  • Accounting experience or education an asset
  • Supervisory/management/leadership training an asset
  • Experience handling large amounts of cash with accuracy
  • Successful completion of courses/training required by regulators
