Gaines Investment Trust is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Make Ready Technician to join our team at Mission at La Villita Apartments in Irving, Texas.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys transforming apartment homes into welcoming spaces for new residents. Whether you already have multifamily make-ready experience or are looking to continue building your maintenance career, you'll be part of a supportive team with opportunities for ongoing training and professional growth.
What You Will Do
  • Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing make-ready work on schedule
  • Complete painting, drywall repairs, cleaning, caulking, and general repairs to company standards
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, and maintenance repairs
  • Assist with apartment inspections to ensure homes are move-in ready
  • Complete maintenance work orders as assigned
  • Help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the community, amenities, and common areas
  • Assist with groundskeeping and curb appeal as needed
  • Work closely with the maintenance and office teams to ensure timely apartment availability
  • Provide courteous, professional customer service to residents
  • Participate in the on-call rotation when applicable
What You Will Bring
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Previous make-ready, apartment maintenance, construction, or related experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license (required)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Experience with painting, drywall, basic plumbing, electrical repairs, appliance installation, or carpentry preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb stairs, and perform physical work throughout the day
  • Positive attitude, dependability, and strong work ethic
  • Commitment to delivering an exceptional living experience for residents
