Position: Regional Maintenance Technician
At Gaines Investment Trust, we take pride in offering our residents comfortable and well-maintained apartment homes. We seek a Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated team to perform general maintenance for a traditional office building, one small multi-family community, and two residential homes while delivering excellent customer service.

Competitive compensation based on experience: $26 - $30 per hour
What You Will Do:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure building systems and equipment's longevity and operational efficiency.
- Complete work orders and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with managers to prioritize and address maintenance requests.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication to residents and team members.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors for larger repair projects as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance emergencies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of pools, common areas, and grounds.
- Collaborate with teams/vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and projects.
What You Will Bring:
- Previous experience (3+ years) in apartment/building maintenance or a similar role preferred.
- Currently resides within the San Diego, CA area.
- Proficient in basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer skills for recording and tracking maintenance activities.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy objects, climb stairs, and perform manual labor.
- Strong work ethic
- Valid driver's license, tools, and reliable transportation.
