Funko is a purveyor of pop culture, making and selling license-focused collectibles. Funko HQ is based in Everett, WA where we have a store that delights kids of all ages (kids at heart included). We currently hold hundreds of licenses for franchises ranging from Marvel to Harry Potter, giving us the rights to create tens of thousands of characters—one of the largest portfolios in the pop culture and collectibles industry. We take your favorite characters and turn them into adorable, or sometimes scary, collectible figures. Our most famous line, Pop! Vinyl, has millions of fans around the world. 

Funko Games, a division of Funko, is an invention, design, and playtesting studio specializing in board games. Our cadre of creative thinkers and talented tinkerers melds unbounded inspiration with intensive research and rigorous consumer testing to shape best-in-class products. We are located in the University District of Seattle, WA.

The Director of Marketing for Funko Games will develop the marketing plan and strategy for all tabletop games, clearly communicate their vision to internal and external stakeholders, then overseeing all aspects of execution, including leading a focused and passionate team of game marketers. Additionally, you will directly execute on key aspects of the plan.

The ideal candidate is goal-driven, immersed in the world of board gaming, and has their finger on the pulse of both mass and hobby gaming markets. This individual has a deep understanding of marketing consumer products across many platforms including digital and paid advertising, PR, live events, as well as through partnerships with retail, licensors, and social media influencers.

Your Superpowers in Action

  • Build a strategic roadmap and execute in areas such as events (in-person & digital); paid & earned media and agency management; content production (how-to-play videos, sizzles and commercials, lifestyle and product photography); influencer, social media, and engagement strategy; retail marketing
  • Develop and implement marketing plans that drive awareness for the Funko Games brand and product produced by Funko Games
  • Own and maintain the annual Funko Games marketing budget
  • Push forward initiatives that continue to build the Funko Games brand
  • Effectively maintain key licensor relationships and manage licensor approvals
  • Communicate marketing plan to internal and external stakeholders including retailers and licensors
  • Partner with sales, product development, and licensing throughout the marketing life cycle
  • Analyze marketing throughout the life cycle to continue to improve campaign performance

Must-Have Superhero Gadgetry

  • 5-8 years of experience in consumer products marketing, or relevant brand or product management
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising or a related field
  • A passion for and understanding of the board game category;
  • Previous experience in managing or leading a team
  • Strong project management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and report presentation abilities
  • Willingness to be a team player to get the job done
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
