Senior Accountant
Description
What You’ll Do
- Financial Close Processes: Manage and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Consolidation and Reporting: Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules in compliance with US GAAP. Ensure accuracy and completeness of intercompany eliminations and financial consolidations across multiple entities. Maintain and improve consolidation tools and systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Analyze consolidated financial results, providing insights into variances.
- Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance accounting processes and systems, driving efficiency and accuracy.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors, ensuring compliance with quarterly and annual requirements. Ensure adherence to internal control frameworks and SOX requirements.
- Financial Metrics & Reporting: Partner with the assistant controller to develop and maintain scorecards, KPIs, and detailed account analyses, supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Special Projects: Identify opportunities to enhance processes, streamline close cycles, optimize reporting, and other projects as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to navigate complex challenges, propose actionable solutions, and achieve results.
- Organizational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Technology Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI and financial systems like Microsoft D365 or Dynamics NAV (preferred).
- Collaboration: Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and present complex data.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification required.
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on financial consolidations and reporting (public accounting experience preferred.
