The Opportunity
The School Nurse provides first aid and emergency care to all school-age children. Administers medication and/or treatment when necessary for pupils to attend school and will work with the leadership team and staff to improve the overall quality of care.
Essential duties
- Adhere to a full-time schedule among five campuses serving predominantly high school students and some elementary students (one campus per day)
- Provide direct nursing services to students according to IEPs and 504 plans
- Create goals for IEPs
- Conduct nursing evaluations for students with IEPs/504 plans
- Provide professional development for staff as needed regarding health topics
- Schedule and facilitate hearing and vision screenings
- Other relevant duties as assigned
The Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning required
- School Nurse Credential or willing to get one
