The Opportunity
As a School-Based Behavior Support Specialist, you'll be a critical team member, supporting students' prosocial behaviors, implementing positive behavioral interventions, and providing valuable coaching to our staff on reinforcement and management strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Effective Behavioral Supports: Implement strategies that increase students' appropriate behaviors, enabling better access to the curriculum
- Support for All Staff: Assist all staff in implementing effective behavioral and academic supports
- Challenging Behaviors: Support students displaying challenging behaviors, ensuring careful documentation of incidents
- Crisis Management Coaching: Train and coach staff on safe and effective crisis management techniques
- Safety and Leadership: Actively supervise campus areas, ensuring safety and reinforcing appropriate behaviors
- Leadership During Transitions: Provide direction and leadership during arrival and dismissal processes
The Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in education, criminal justice, social services, or related field Required
- Behavioral Health Tech (BHT) or Registered Behavior Tech (RBT) (preferred)
- Experience in a School Setting (preferred)
