About Us

High Roads Schools are operated by Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI). SESI Schools provide specialized education programming for K-12 students who require additional educational and positive behavioral supports to overcome challenges that impede success in a traditional school setting.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to inspire and educate students in the visual arts. The ideal candidate will foster a love for art, encourage creativity, and help students develop their artistic skills across various mediums. This role involves designing engaging lesson plans, promoting artistic expression, and cultivating a supportive classroom environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with educational standards and meets the diverse needs of students.
  • Teach various art techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and artistic exploration.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Organize art exhibitions and displays to showcase student work and promote appreciation for the arts within the school community.
  • Collaborate with other educators to integrate art into cross-curricular projects and events.
  • Stay updated on current trends in art education and incorporate innovative practices into the classroom.
  • Manage classroom resources, including art supplies and equipment, ensuring they are available and in good condition.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative learning environment.

The Qualifications

  • BA degree required
  • Teaching license in Art
