Position at Catapult Learning

Catapult Learning, a division of FullBloom, is currently hiring a Professional Development Specialist and Teacher Coach to work in public elementary and high schools in Pittsburgh, PA. The PD Specialist/Coach will deliver Catapult Learning’s professional development workshops, work directly with teachers throughout the school year in PLCs, and be a part of the Catapult Learning School Transformation team.
This position is part-time/per diem beginning in January 2022, approximately 10-20 days from January 2022 to June 2022.

  • Studies/practices workshop content prior to delivery  
  • Contacts the school one week before workshop to confirm the workshop date  
  • Delivers professional development workshops 
  • Encourages participation and open discussion  
  • Support educators as they reflect deeply about their practice and identify areas where they would like to apply new instructional strategies 
  • Meet with teachers individually or in groups to learn the context of the teaching environment, agree on coaching logistics, and set goals for the coaching partnership 
  • Build rapport and trust with the teachers and Principals 
  • Ensures all educator and parent development is completed successfully  
  • Reviews session evaluations to improve the quality of the presentations  
  • Communicates actively with all directors regarding activities  
  • May provide onsite workshop applications coaching as determined by PD Manager   


  • Masters Degree in Education or related field   
  • At least 5 years experience working with K-12 students in a school setting   
  • Expertise in middle school Math and/or ELA and/or EL (English Learners) strongly preferred
  • Experience delivering professional development workshops to adults is strongly preferred  
  • Excellent communication skills are essential 
  • Experience in teaching and/or coaching teachers 
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of local evaluation framework  
  • Ability to skillfully facilitate (virtually or in person) adult learning  
  • Experience in using an LMS and/or facilitating interactive group activities via Zoom.  
  • Commitment to mastering any new digital tools required for the support of teachers (Google classroom, SeeSaw, Schoology, etc.) 
  • Excellent research, written, and oral communication skills  
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently  

Physical environment/Working Conditions 

  • Some local traveling required.  
  • Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs.  
  • Programs are in school settings.   

As a condition of employment, staff will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit to weekly testing. All staff are required to wear an approved mask, if and when reporting to a physical work site where they are interacting with others.
