About Us

At NewHope, we provide students with a small, safe, and supportive educational environment. Our therapeutic day school serves internalizing students with average to above average intelligence in need of additional support. Since its inception, hundreds of students have utilized our program; many of them returning to their home schools  

The Opportunity

The Assistant Clinical Director works in conjunction with the Clinical Director to ensure the quality of the clinical component within the therapeutic program as required by all applicable standards, policies and procedures, while also working with the leadership team and staff to improve the overall quality of care. 

The Qualifications

  • Doctorate or master's degree in psychology, social work, or clinical counseling
  • License required including PhD, Psy.D., LCSW, LSW, LCPC
  • Minimum 2 years experience in school, special education, or behavioral health setting working with children and adolescents required

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly individual therapy sessions of caseload
  • Schedule regular evening hours or morning hours, one night/morning a month, for family therapy of caseload
  • Maintain regular contact with families of caseload through emails, phone calls and family therapy
  • Record all therapy sessions and phone contacts with those who are involved with caseload in TeacherEase
  • Attend weekly clinical seminars
  • Attend weekly supervision/consultation with supervisor
  • Review cognitive/achievement testing and social/emotional testing with parents and students
  • Attend all IEP meetings of caseload 
  • Monitor and document progress of IEP goals
  • Complete quarterly IEP goals in a timely manner
  • Complete necessary components for IEP goals including any reports and goals in a timely manner
  • Provide supervisor reports and goals for review one week in advance of meeting
  • Provide crisis management to those students in need during the school day at specifically scheduled times
  • Additional Therapy duties and expectations are identified in the job description and any written policies for Employee’s position and also may be assigned to Employee by the Executive Director throughout the school year. 
  • Reviewing all draft paperwork from therapists; goals, reports and domain paperwork in cooperation with the Clinical Director
  • Working with Administrative Team to ensure smooth transition and constant communication with the home school
  • Work with Clinical Director in hiring and managing staff
  • Medication distribution
  • Attending intakes, IEP meetings as administrator
  • Organize all cognitive/achievement/emotional testing dates and materials with Principal
  • Monitor the review of testing between therapist and students/parents
  • Review cognitive/academic testing and social/emotional testing with parents and students
  • Ensure that all therapists meet regularly with parents and students and provide allotted service hours as indicated in IEP
  • Additional Assistant Clinical Director duties and expectations are identified in the job description and any written policies for Employee’s position and also may be assigned to Employee by the Executive Director throughout the school year. 
  • Review and edit all written reports and all IEP social / emotional / therapeutic goals generated by psychology staff
