The Opportunity 

The School Nurse provides all school-age children first aid and emergency care. Administers medication and/or treatment when necessary for pupils to attend school. Lastly will work with the leadership team and staff to improve the overall quality of care. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Review immunization records for school-age children

• Assist with Medical/Dental Screenings

• Prepare and file state reports as required by law

• Provide the following services as promulgated by individual State laws/Regulations

• Notify parent/guardian if a screening defect is found upon screening and recommend appropriate follow-up

• Observe and recommend to the principal the exclusion of students who show evidence of infectious diseases and/or whose immunization records are not received from parent/guardian after numerous attempts

• Submit monthly reports of health services and screenings performed to the Regional Director

The Qualifications 

• Valid New Jersey Certified School Nurse Certification Required
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Basic Life Support CPR - Professional Rescuer or Healthcare Provider card
• Commitment to learning and implementing feedback 
• Ability to adapt and remain flexible 
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
