General Duties: 
Duties generally include but are not limited to the following: 
  • Performs routine maintenance, inspects, analyzes troubles, repairs, adjusts, replaces parts and maintains records on the following motor vehicle equipment
  • Engineers, Diesel, Gas, etc. fuel systems, electrical systems, cooling systems, air pollution control devices, all mechanical engine component
  • Drive trains automatic transmissions, standard transmissions, 3, 4, and 5 speed, etc. Clutches, universals, and single speed. 2 speed and limited slip rear ends Power takeoff units
  • Brakes Disc, power hydraulic Drum, power hydraulic and standard hydraulic Air H.D. truck, S cam, and disc
  • Suspension Independent passenger and truck springs, ball-joints, tie rods, king-pins, etc. Non-independent heavy-duty truck
  • Special Equipment Combination 110-volt AC, 12-volt DC alternators, 220 volt 3 phase AC generators hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders etc. up to 400 PSI hydraulic hoses, piping control valves, etc. fiberglass and steel booms and lifting devices tractors, trailers, bulldozers, ditch digging equipment, etc.
  • Drives Company vehicles – any combination of motor vehicles and trailer or semi-trailer.
  • Lifts loads weighing over 60 pounds.
  
Basic Qualifications: 
Past Experience:
  • Must be ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified as a Master Automobile Technician or ASE certified as a Master Heavy-Duty Truck Technician.
  • Candidates for this position are required to provide official verification of education (transcripts, certifications, licenses, or military records). 
  • Candidates must submit the required documentation with transfer requests.

Specifics: 
  • Company driving certificate required.
  • Must qualify for a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements as required to drive Frontier vehicles with a gross weight of 26.001 lbs. or more; subject to the Frontier Drug Testing Program as mandated by law.
  • 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Night Shift
  • Overtime – occasional.

  • Three (3) years high school training, two (2) years post high school training, etc. in automotive technology.

  • Various Manufacturers schools. 
  • On the job instruction as required. 
Environment: 
  • Works with grease, oil and dirt while inspecting or repairing equipment often in awkward positions and at various heights. 
  • May be required to work in extreme temperatures and/or snow, rain, etc. 
  • Must use environmental equipment as required.
