This Network Operations Assistant, Outside Plant (OSP) Construction and Engineering position will be a member of the National Contract Administration Team. This Team is responsible for developing the scope of work and units for all contracts, working with local leadership to develop and define contract solutions for the Company, identifying and screening potential new vendors, supporting Frontier leadership and vendor leadership on contract interpretation, conflict resolution, dispute resolution, vendor audits, creating/developing addendums to existing contracts, training vendors and processing bids.

What you'll do: 

  • Work with unit contracts for OSP Construction and Engineering.
  • Send projects out to bid.
  • Review vendor invoices
  • Ensure vendors meet work order deadlines on assigned work.
  • Provide basic training on Frontier systems to users.
What you'll need: 

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the telecom industry and at least 3 years in Engineering, Construction, or Operations.
  • Prior construction OSP experience in any of the follow categories:  Cable splicer, Lineman, Field engineer, OSP Engineer, OSP Inspector, Tech II, Substructure – placing conduits, concrete/asphalt is required.
  • Must be able to read OSP construction drawings.
  • Must be able to review invoice vendor charges as assurance correct unit applications were applied.
  • Experience driving performance with vendors and holding them accountable to that performance.
  • Must be able to multitask, and work on multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
  • Must be deadline-driven and be able to work independently to complete and close assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to assess risk and make decisions that can impact the business.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must have excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Must be able to conduct and host meetings as required with both internal and external business partners.

Desired Skills: 

  • Knowledge of contracts, written statement of work and contract negotiations.
  • Should also have experience with quotes/bid work to meet business requirements.
  • Basic understanding of overtime and prevailing wage laws.
  • Experience identifying and vetting vendor resources.
  • Knowledge of Frontier systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of Frontier products and services
