What we’re seeking:

The primary responsibilities include: Creating new DLRs (design layout requests) that are in their queue in the system. Audit and update existing circuit records for all circuits and trunk orders. Coordinate the facility assignments with the corresponding LEC or Carrier. Work together with the ICSC and the INA groups to expedite orders and work on ways to streamline the processing of the ASR (Access Service Requests) ISRs (Internal Service Requests) and PSRs (Product Service Requests). Coordinate with Engineering (Transmission, Outside Plant, Central Office) if needed to notify them of potential challenges with equipment or lack thereof for the customer orders. Identify where equipment is required, and order the equipment for field delivery. Prepare and issue purchase orders in Infinium to request and purchase required network components. Create information on the CLR/DLR to properly dispatch the circuit to Viryanet and the proper techs in the field.

In this hybrid position you will be expected to work 3 days onsite in our office in Fort Wayne, IN or Rochester, NY to collaborate with peers.

 

What we need in you:
We need you to be highly knowledgeable in telecommunications and telephony circuit design. Hands on experience with M6, TDM architecture and ethernet transport systems is key to success in this role. Your ability to work effectively within a team, communicate with others both over the phone and in person as well as a your willingness to ask for additional guidance and training when necessary will serve you well in this role.
 
 
What you’ll do:
  • Design circuit layouts to meet company engineering standards and customer requirements for all internal and external orders that come into M6 and or DPI
  • Order equipment for circuits as required using Infinium to create the project
  • Audit the record inventory in all central offices and make any necessary updates or changes to those records
  • Validate and coordinate record data integrity between our company and connecting LECs
  • Work with the ICSC group, INA group, Transmission Engineering, OSP Engineering, COE Engineering, Assignments and Dispatch to coordinate and correct orders
  • Identify areas requiring additional facilities and notify the proper engineering group

  • Salary Range:  $54,000 to $105,000

What background you should have:
  • Bachelor's or associate degree in technical discipline preferred but not required.
  • 4 years of experience in network architecture relating to circuit and network design.
  • 2 years experience with DLR and GLR design layout
  • Knowledge of M6 (MetaSolve, Granite) or experience in a similar system
  • Understanding of provisioning and Telcordia standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Some travel may be required
