Director of Broadband Grants

What we’re seeking:  

This people leader will report to the Vice President of Grant Administration and manage a team of two to three direct reports and up to ten indirect reports. The role is responsible for vetting and providing recommendations on where Frontier should submit applications for subsidy revenue opportunities to build out fiber.

What you’ll do:  

  • Capital Allocation & Strategic Planning for fiber builds under BEAD and other subsidy programs: Plan where to build fiber with the help of government subsidies and how much to spend (costing, IRR modeling, etc.)
  • Project management of open subsidy programs: Manage production of fiber routes in areas that are strategically attractive to build in
  • Data and Strategy requests: Work on strategic projects relating to grant builds such as competitive analysis and decommissioning of legacy technologies
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Engineering, and Construction teams: Co-ordinate build planning, costing, and revenue modeling, and build timelines.
  • Consider M&A opportunities

What background you should have:  
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 2-3+ years of experience in telecom through consulting firms, engineering firms, or investment firms 
  • 2-3+ years of experience with financial modeling and capital allocation decision making
  • Experience in guiding network planning production & strategic initiatives
  • Executive and Board level presentations
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and time-management skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to accurately express engineering terminology in written and oral communications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment and to handle deadlines
  • Ability to travel 25% percent of the time to various project locations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with regions and engineering services senior management teams, employees, customers, railroads, regulatory agency officials, and the general public

  

Salary Range:  $105,000 to $205,000
