MGR, Alt Channel Operations

Sales - Alternate Channel TAMPA, Florida FORT WAYNE, Indiana IRVING, TX


The Manager position will report into the Vice President, Alternate Channels, and will be responsible for:

Managing the Alternate Channel Metrics and Reporting team, in supporting Digital channels, our Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) business unit and all Mass direct and Indirect sales channels.  The team is responsible for managerial reports, executive reports, financial reporting, budgeting, MDU sales profitability analysis, employee quota setting, vendor objective setting, and any ad-hoc analysis required by the channel.

Responsibilities include the following:

Assist in the development and maintenance of reporting templates and back-end SQL databases to support them

  • Produce daily reports for 14 sales channels under the Alternate Channel umbrella
  • Produce monthly financial reports that track departmental expenses against budget at the channel VP level
  • Create monthly trending of vendor commissions at the product, vendor and channel level
  • Create monthly sales, revenue and churn report for MDU’s
  • Weekly MDU sales funnel report
  • Create managerial sales reports as requested by channel VP’s
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis of trends and drivers as requested


Support creation of annual unit and expense budget for 14 sales channels and update forecasts quarterly

  • Work with SVP Alternate Channels to create annual budgets and quarterly updates for 14 sales channels under the Alternate Channel umbrella
  • Work with Frontier Corporate Finance to ensure alignment between Alternate Channels objectives and overall company objectives
  • Communicate with Channel VP’s to ensure alignment with budgets and communicate any changes that happen throughout the year


Aid in providing financial analysis of return on capital for MDU sales opportunities and associated network build-outs

  • Work with Finance to maintain cost models
  • Quarterly analysis of market trends to predict future revenue streams
  • Work with sales teams to model sales opportunities


Help facilitate the creation of VP and below sales quotas associated with several different compensation plans

  • Create linkages between sales quotas and unit budgets
  • Create linkages between sales quota and expense budgets
  • Analyze channel trends to ensure that quotas are challenging but achievable
  • Obtain Alignment from channel leadership prior to finalizing quota
  • Communicate quotas to sales teams
  • Model external compensation plans to ensure unit and financial objectives are met


Previous Experience and Educational Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in metrics, forecasting, and reporting
  • BA/BS recommended

  • Requires the ability to turn large amounts of raw data into insights
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly skilled in SQL, MS Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Senior Executives
  • Strong knowledge of Frontier reporting systems is preferred, but not required


Database Skill Requirements

  • Assisting with maintenance of our SQL server and the databases on the server
  • A background in programming, with experience in modifying and creating applications and/or views in several databases,
  • Ability to design and build of new databases as required
  • Participation in troubleshooting, problem isolation, resolution and problem escalations as needed 
  • Initiate and participate in root cause analysis/preventative action activities when required, such as when an outage occurs
  • Skilled technical writing ability in order to document problems and solutions for users and other support personnel

Specific Competencies

  • Working knowledge of SQL Server & Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
  • Experience in MS Office Access, Excel, VB programming, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote
  • Functional experience with the following systems is a plus: Brio query, SQL or other programming languages

This position requires the individual to be physically located in a Frontier office, including but not limited to; Fort Wayne, IN, Tampa, FL, & Irving, TX.
