Summary  
Frontier is looking for our Technicians to engage and develop customer relationships and provide solutions to our customers through our products and services. All of our employees are expected to be ambassadors of Frontier Communications within our communities.  
  
Basic Employment Requirement 
  • Communication 
    • Communicate effectively and accurately on customer issues to eliminate repeat trouble calls. Mentor co-workers to expand knowledge, to be self-motivated and display ability to follow thru on assignments.  
  • Equipment 
    • Display the ability to troubleshoot and repair Central Office programs and equipment.  
    • Install new equipment, software and provision company products  
    • Understand microwave, radios, switch protocols’, architecture, BICSI practices and Copper transmission principles.  
  • PC Knowledge  
    • Navigate web, set up Business/Residential computer(s) and demonstrate applications to customer. Effectively use company dispatch program to complete assignments.  
  • Products  
    • Support, install and repair company products and services, fully understand and adhere to 5-Step Peace of Mind Service Process. Be able to explain new services and products to our customers.  
  • Switching & Transmission  
    • Repair switching equipment in the CO Environment and interpret/modify wiring and schematic diagrams and plant records. Complete trunk orders, code openings and system diagnostics.  
    • Utilize switch test equipment to repair, maintain and install DMS 100/10/1, DCO and remote offices.  
    • Understand VOIP fundamentals and call flow of the GemG8 and Broadsoft M6 technology.  
    • Troubleshoot, isolate, turn up and repair existing and new company transmission circuits.  
  • Other Requirements 
    • Four (4) years of experience in telecommunications as a Testboard Technician.
    • Three (3) years of experience in switch programming, splicing or outside plant maintenance.
    • Previous experience in customer service dispatch and/or workload routing.
    • High School graduate or GED
    • Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record
    • Must be able to work overtime and call outs as needed to meet service requirements. 
 
Additional Requirements 
This will be a Primary Inside and Outside Central Office and Field Special Services position in Support of Install and Maintenance of Special Services and Central Office Maintenance.  
As with all technician positions, there may be the need to work off-shift and weekends along with Overtime. Work tours are based on seniority. Must be willing to work nights and weekends, emergency call-outs and overtime as needed.
