In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our warehouses have sufficient stock to support our residential solar projects. You will utilize your forecasting expertise to analyze past purchasing and usage trends, creating accurate inventory forecasts. By monitoring needs versus availability and collaborating with suppliers, you will guarantee that our warehouses are well-stocked for construction. Your ability to coordinate material movement and address potential shortages will be vital in maintaining seamless operations and reducing any impact on our customers.

A Day in the Life:

As a Solar Strategic Commodity Planner, your day will involve analyzing sales data, communicating with suppliers, and forecasting inventory needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate material movement and ensure optimal inventory levels. Your expertise in supply chain management and cost optimization will contribute to the efficiency and success of our operations. Additionally, you will research potential suppliers, compare products and services, and actively contribute to our continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience:

To thrive in this role, we are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  2. Proven experience in strategic commodity planning, forecasting, and inventory management.

  3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze sales data and identify trends.

  4. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  5. Proficiency in using Material Requirement Planning (MRP) systems and software.

  6. Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and optimize supply chain operations.

  7. Experience in the renewable energy industry or construction sector is a plus.
