Position Summary
The Carpenter will be reporting directly to the Field Manager and encompass a strong knowledge base for carpentry and general handyman skills. They will also be responsible for completing service calls for customers throughout the region.
Job Duties/ Responsibilities
- Ability to repair drywall damage
- Ability to repair stucco, siding, and soffit damage
- Rivet placards
- Dig Trenches
- Minor solar electrical work
- Maintaining the safety of themselves and others by adhering to all written and verbal instructions
- Promptly reporting and/or correcting all hazards or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards
- Providing feedback to Field Manager on all safety issues
- Take notes for corrections and notify Field Manager of any issues or updates
- Keep service/inspection vehicle stocked with the necessary materials
- Service solar panel systems when necessary
- Ability to repair all types of Roofs as well as Ground Mounts
- Ability to add or remove panels on solar systems
- Able to identify/isolate roof leaks
- Able to read and understand plans
- Review pictures and gather all necessary parts to complete inspection on site.
- Perform pre-inspection on-site prior to inspector showing up
- Open electrical panels & junction boxes so the inspector can observe inside
- Set up and tie off ladders for the city/county inspectors
- Ability to understand or have experience with all AHJ guidelines within the region
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must have a minimum of 1+ years of experience
- Must have roofing/carpentry/handyman experience
- Familiarity with plan sets and field layouts
- Strong interpersonal and human relations
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Good motivation with attention to productivity, detail, and safety
- Able to work safely with heights on ladders and in confined areas
- Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops, and able to work on your feet for long periods of time
- Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Regular, reliable and predictable attendance
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, rain, crawl spaces, etc.)
