POSITION SUMMARY: 
  
The Director of Operations is a leadership position covering multiple locations. They are responsible for the overall safety, quality, efficiency, customer experience and cost of our solar installation projects completed by regional offices in the assigned territory. The Director of Operations is responsible for organizing, motivating, and leading teams to deliver against key performance indicators. They are accountable for driving financial performance, efficiency in multiple office locations and effectively partnering with Operations leadership to ensure delivery of solar residential and small commercial. 
  
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  
  • Ability to manage, organize, and oversee all aspects of Regional Operations 
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and mentor Managers along with a variety of personnel 
  • Involved in the installation of solar projects to create a positive, constructive, and 
  • performance driven environment 
  • Understand and implement existing installation and operation processes and procedures 
  • Ability to evaluate and manage the resources and processes required for the successful 
  • completion of solar projects 
  • Ability to manage a Pipeline of 100+ Projects 
  • Manage multiple office locations 
  • Ensure that all locations are focused on safety, quality, customers service and 
  •        profitability 
  • Uphold the importance of adhering to all safety practices and compliances, ensuring that employees receive the proper safety training and equipment applicable to their position 
  • Provide accurate installation forecasts, set performance targets, deliver Region's performance reporting, and create action plans as needed and present to the Department of 
  •        Operations 
  • Coordinate with corporate departments daily 
  • Ability to understand and manage the Region's performance to key performance metrics 
  • Manage operations team to meet departmental goals via appropriate allocation of workload 
  •       and effective resource management 
  • Manage personnel as needed to meet Company commitments for the field engineering, installation, commissioning, and servicing of regional solar projects 
  • Expedite and/or amend the project schedule as to reflect work in progress 
  • Monitor the progress of all accounts associated with each location 
  
  • Formulate performance improvement plans/reviews and makes termination decisions as 
  •        necessary 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
  
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 
  
Education & Certifications: 
  
  • B.A. in business, operations, or construction management (Preferred) 
  • High School Graduate or GED 
  
Experience: 
  
  • 5+ years business/construction experience 
  • 1+ years solar experience 
  
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • High level of organizational and time management skills 
  • Operationally focused; detailed oriented but able to grasp big picture 
  • Excellent people skills, able to manage, motivate and discipline if necessary 
  • Strong work ethic, analytical, understands how to manage people effectively and leads by example 
  • High Level of risk analysis, critical thinking, and the ability to provide solutions 
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record 
  
Special Skills & Training: 
  
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Word, and project management tools 
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Podio) is a plus 
  
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES 
  
  • Ability to work safely in an office/warehouse environment 
  • Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces 
  • Use of standard office equipment, phone, computer, printer 
  • Able to listen and communicate verbally 
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time 
  • Able to stand for up to 8 hours 
  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time 
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds 
  • Must be able to work in extreme conditions (hot sun, extreme cold, etc.) 
  
  
  
  
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS (Employee is required to travel for business purposes, not including commute to and from work.) 
 
If required to travel, must have a valid Driver's License/Insurance and the ability to drive a personal vehicle to different sites.
