Position Summary:
As our Regional Engineering Manager (REM) you’ll hold a vital role within our Construction Engineering (CE) team. You’ll be responsible for managing a regional team whose role is to generate code compliant solar blueprints as efficiently as possible through the lens of engineering and construction feasibility. This team must strive to fulfill branch preferences by taking into consideration installation feasibility and efficiency. As our REM, you’re not only a subject matter expert in code and AHJ/Utility requirements, but also will be proficient in mentoring your team in how to operate our internal tools and troubleshoot as needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage a regional pipeline of tasks, ensuring they are always within SLA and Quality targets
- Serve a team of Design Engineers by way of removing blockers, workload balancing, and pipeline management
- Oversee quality for the districts overseen, accounting for whenever 3rd party and/or non-resident Design Engineers work in these areas.
- Utilize quality data and other various forms of feedback to drive candid and direct conversations with Branch Management and Permit Coordinators
- Act as SME for Solar Design, including mastery of AutoCAD and relevant Electrical & Structural concepts
- Work cross functionally with Account Management, Project Management, and Construction Engineering teams daily
- Collaborate with Trainers to address training, documentation, and process gaps as needed
- Peer review completed work from team members as requested, and provide clear and concise feedback when applicable
- Respond to problems head-on, with a solution-oriented mindset
- Complete other assigned duties as needed
What Success Looks Like in This Role:
- Zero projects, including rework, aging greater than 24hrs at any given time
- The median age of completed projects at 12 hours or less
- Maintain 95% team quality or greater of completed work
- Maintain 90% team quota or greater of completed work
Desired Qualifications:
- 3 years Solar Design experience, or 4 years Solar Installer experience or equivalent
- Great interpersonal skills, and an ability to motivate and inspire others
- Diligent problem solver; acting with decisiveness and confidence
- Must know how to handle problems quickly and efficiently
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to concisely describe problems, solutions, and needs
- Deep understanding of relevant Electrical concepts, including tie-in methods, red flags, and relevant chapters in the NEC
- Strong understanding of Structural concepts, “red flags”, and roof attachment assemblies
- Track record of successfully managing a fast paced, high-volume pipeline of work
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to interpret blueprints and design accordingly

- Self-motivate team player who works well unsupervised
- High School Graduate or GED, bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred
Physical Demands and Abilities:
- Regularly use office equipment and computers for extended periods of time
- Comfortable reviewing and entering information into a PC for extended periods of time
- Communicate professionally through email and phone
- Ability to work on projects with deadlines
- Able to move from sitting to standing positions, bend, twist, and use hands and fingers
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away
- Can speak clearly so listeners can understand, and listen to understand another person
- Occasionally lift 5-10 pounds
