Cash Collections Specialist
Description
- Manage a dynamic portfolio of customer accounts, including collections calls and email communications to collect outstanding balances
- Work with customers to identify payment plans and negotiate payment arrangements to bring delinquent accounts current
- Review and reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all collection activities and customer interactions in the Company CRM
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address root causes of delinquency and improve collections processes
- Stay up-to-date on all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies and procedures related to collections
- High School Graduate or GED, with some college coursework in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in collections or customer service, preferably in a solar or renewable energy company
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently to meet goals and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and collections software
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
- Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
- Regularly spend long hours answering phone calls and emails
- Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly
- Regularly spend long hours in intense concentration reviewing and entering information into a computer
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects
- Regularly see details of objects that are less than a few feet away
- Regularly speak clearly so listeners can understand
- Regularly understand the speech of another person
- Frequently work on projects that require deadlines
- Frequently bend to file and maintain files
- Occasionally lift 5-10 pounds
