Logistics Coordinator
Description
- Communicate consistently with transportation partners to schedule pickups and deliveries of freight
- Monitor several logistical programs and websites to process transportation moves; ensuring communication is clear and tickets are completed in a timely manner
- Collaborate with Distribution Center staff to plan, price and arrange container shipments to different locations
- Work with the Logistics Manager on developing strategies to optimize productivity workflow and reduce costs
- Assist with improving transportation management systems and processes to streamline our freight booking process
- Ensure all drivers are scheduled, signed in and processed professionally and efficiently at the Distribution Center
- Play an active role in resolving all freight claims or discrepancies
- Perform metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements
- Partner with the Logistics Analyst on projects and collaborative efforts on creating spreadsheets and graphs to illustrate numbers of shipments, costs, and savings
- Fulfill other tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Logistics Manager and Distribution Center Manager
- 3+ years of experience working in logistics, warehouse, and transportation operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Highly proficient in MS Excel
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
- Strong personnel skills with the ability to multitask and play a role in multiple projects at once
- Intricate understanding of supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles
- TMS (Transportation Management System)
- WMS (Warehouse Management System) or equivalent inventory management system
- Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
- Regularly spend long hours answering phone calls and emails
- Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly
- Regularly spend long hours in intense concentration reviewing and entering information into a computer
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects
- Regularly see details of objects that are less than a few feet away
- Regularly speak clearly so listeners can understand
- Frequently work in on projects that require deadlines
- Frequently bend to file and maintain files
- Occasionally lift 40 pounds
