About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Auditor to support our solar operations team. This role focuses on monitoring data, detecting anomalies, and escalating risks directly to senior leadership. Operating mainly in the background, this individual will serve as the “eyes and ears” of the organization, ensuring materials are used correctly and efficiently while minimizing losses. The ideal candidate thrives in a data-driven environment, identifies discrepancies quickly, and provides leadership with clear, actionable intelligence—all with minimal direct interaction with local warehouse or supply chain staff.

Key Responsibilities

Detection & Reporting

  • Monitor and analyze key reports (e.g., Materials in Questionable Status, Internal Customer Transactions, BOM vs. Picked) to uncover material misuse, irregular patterns, or inefficiencies
  • Flag discrepancies in crew performance and material consumption through Active Crews and Installed kW reporting
  • Develop automated alerts and exception reports to ensure rapid escalation of critical issues
  • Deliver executive summary reports that clearly communicate findings and recommendations

Analysis & Escalation

  • Track inventory activity across warehouses, distribution centers, and project sites to detect shrinkage, variances, or suspicious transactions
  • Conduct deep-dive reviews of cycle counts, transfers, and transactions to determine root causes
  • Audit high-value solar components (panels, inverters, batteries, racking) through data analysis and highlight irregularities
  • Maintain independence from day-to-day operations, escalating only when issues require leadership review

Documentation & Leadership Reporting

  • Provide clear written reports to the Inventory Control Manager, VP of Supply Chain, and Director of Warehousing
  • Maintain data integrity within ERP/WMS systems (Oracle, NetSuite) to ensure accuracy
  • Establish reporting cadences and ad-hoc escalation protocols for urgent issues
  • Track and trend anomalies over time to surface systemic issues for leadership action

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, data analysis, or loss prevention (solar/construction industry preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills with ERP/WMS experience (NetSuite preferred)
  • Familiarity with SQL and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with ability to spot patterns in large datasets.
  • Self-directed, independent worker with excellent written communication
  • Experience with project-based inventory and BOM analysis preferred

Key Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Quickly identifies trends and discrepancies
  • Independence: Operates effectively with minimal interaction
  • Confidentiality: Manages sensitive loss prevention data with discretion
  • Accuracy: Consistently delivers precise reports
  • Accountability: Owns findings and recommendation
  • Investigative Mindset: Uses a forensic approach to uncover root causes
